Lauren’s writing

Monday, January 21st, 2008

We’re trying to practice writing with Lauren. Here is one of her first writings. Mummy wrote Lauren’s name, and Lauren tried to copy it. The L, A, U and even the R are pretty clear. The E is a bit messy and big, and the N isn’t there yet, but this is a good start!

I’m falling in love with you

Tuesday, January 15th, 2008

Evan and Lauren have started saying to us:

I’m falling in love with you!

They’ll also randomly yell out “Helloooo, Nurse!” (both are from Animaniacs).

Mother instincts

Tuesday, January 15th, 2008

Lauren’s been “breast-feeding” her dolls recently. Nicole asked her where the baby bottle was one day and she said she doesn’t need it, because she has her boobies!

Today she told Nicole she had baby-doll “Emma” in her tummy for 4 months. When asked how it came out, she said:

“The doctor got it out, through the secret door.”

When Nicole asked where the secret door was, she replied:

“You know Mummy, through the vagina.”

Dolls

Lauren has started to get interested in her dolls again, carting them around with her whenever she goes out. She’s called the doll with the dark hair “Lauren” and the boy doll “Evan”. There’s still one unnamed one yet. Maybe I’ll get the name!

Lauren’s first email

Wednesday, January 9th, 2008

Lauren dictated her first email to Grandma, and this is what it contained:

Hi Grandma,

I love you and happy new year.

I went to school today and didn’t do anything naughty.

I did a kimono show on Saturday. I liked the friend beside me, Alexandra. I held her hand.

I LOVE Mary Poppins. Daddy showed us the video on the weekend. My favorite part was when she whistled and magically tidied up the children’s playroom. It was good and funny. I want to watch it again.

See you later. Bye Bye.

Love you,
from Lauren
