Lauren

Lauren’s getting her final teeth now – her two front lower canines are coming in. She had some sleepless nights recently, so we reckoned it would be something like that, but good to confirm it.

We bought a Winnie the Pooh plastic cup at the 100 yen shop and Lauren loves to drink out of it. She gets so excited when she sees it, she often spills drink onto herself. For that reason, we only put a wee bit of drink into the cup. Lauren also loves orange juice, although she still isn’t interested in cows milk.

Lauren likes to climb into cupboards, like the ones under the sink, or where the pots and pans are. We also play a game called ‘Where’s Evan/Lauren?’ where they go into the cupboard and we’ll say loudly:

‘Mummy, have you seen Evan/Lauren? No, I haven’t seen them in ages. Maybe we left them at the train station! Yes, that could be.’ and then ‘discover’ them in the cupboard. They love it. Evan in particular, who will get into the cupboard and yell ‘Daddy, where’s Evan?’.

Lauren loves books now. She’ll go over to the books, and pull one out and sit with me and read it. She’ll point at the things she knows (dog, cat, tractor, man, boot etc.) and I generally don’t read the story, but talk about the pictures. She loves that.
