Lauren

Lauren just rolled over for the first time. Around 6:15. Yah!

We put Lauren into Evan’s baby seat for the first time yesterday to feed, and she adapted well to it. She’s sitting up nicely.

Lauren had her first shower today! She had done a poey right up the back to the shoulders, so we decided to take her into the shower with me. She quite liked it, even if she didn’t understand what was going on.

Lauren came into the big bath with us yesterday. Previously, she bathed in the small plastic bath that we bought for her. We tried putting her in the big bath with us twice before, but she panicked – probably too much information and movement around her. Lauren’s always loved the water – she never cries when we put her in the water. She’s sitting up completely in the bath and having a good time splashing and playing.

Lauren’s first Christmas went very well indeed. She didn’t understand anything of course, but enjoyed playing with the torn paper and anything else that made a crinkling noise. Evan opened most of her presents (which consisted mostly of clothes and the odd toy) and Grandma opened the rest. Grandma didn’t really get many presents, so that kept her busy. Lauren did very well sitting up on her own though, and she was very interested in Evan playing with his new toys.

Lauren’s now sitting up in her bath by herself. I practice with her when she’s sitting on my tummy and try to move her a bit so that she compensates and she’s getting better. She probably won’t be able to sit up on her own for a little while yet, but she’s getting there. She’s so cute in the bath, because she splashes the water with her hand. She’s also actively grabbing whatever I have in my hand, and pulled a beer bottle towards herself today and put the rim up to her mouth. Not sure if she liked the beer, but she didn’t make any faces.

Lauren’s doing so well sitting up now. We can sit her up in her little bath and she holds onto the side, and splashes the water with her hand.

Lauren’s filling out now, with her face getting fuller and she’s feeling much heavier. She’s still very inquisitive at things and likes grabbing for things, like my beer!

Lauren’s starting to get more solid on sitting up. In the bath, she’ll sit up, hold onto the side and splash her hands in the water.

Lauren can put her foot in her mouth. Literally. She’s been very interested in her feet for some time, so now she can try to eat it. Good thing she doesn’t have teeth yet!
