Wee on the carpet

Friday, February 17th, 2006

Lauren happened to wee on the carpet while her bottoms were off, and she seemed to be very proud of herself. She understands the pee and poo concepts, and indicates that she needs to go, but she was very happy, giggling and pointing at where she did it. We did tell her it was naughty, but she seemed pretty happy anyways. We don’t want to scare her or make her think that going to the washroom is a bad thing. Reminded me a bit of when Evan drew in permanent marker on the wall in NZ. He was very proud of himself, despite us scolding him and when I got home from work, he proudly took my hand and pointed at what he had done. Funny.

Toilet

Lauren did awesome today again in the loo, when she indicated she needed to go, and she went all by herself. She’s such a clever kid! Probably not yet ready to stop completely with nappies, but she’s well advanced in that area already.

Wooden puzzle

Lauren amazed us when we brought out our wooden puzzle (the ones with the little red button handle that you slide into the right position) and amazingly put it all together! It was really amazing to see how easily she figured out which way was up and slot the piece in the right position. She’s amazing!

Loo

Lauren went to the loo all by herself today! It was brilliant. She indicated she needed to go, and Grandma asked her if she wanted to go to the loo, and she said yes, so we placed her on the toilet and she went! She’s so amazing! Evan wasn’t toilet trained until almost 3 years old (although he would go wee long before that). Hopefully she’ll keep it up, instead of this being an isolated incident!
