Prince Tribute concert

Saturday, July 9th, 2016

Sadly, we learned that Prince Rogers Nelson died on April 21st, the day after my birthday, only 57 years old. I got invited to play a few songs at the Prince tribute at Artistry on July 9th, and I was honoured that my friend Farid’s band Retro Groove backed me up – Rudy, Geri, George and Khalis, great guys. Here are a few pics from the practice session before the gig, and of the gig itself. Good times.

Townes Van Zandt songs

Tuesday, July 5th, 2016

I discovered recently that my friend Greg, who plays dobro, also loves Townes Van Zandt, and he was keen to play some songs with me. So it happened on Sunday at Timbre @ Gilman, and we’ll try it again soon. Here’s “Pancho & Lefty”, and “White Freight Liner” with Aman Wadhwa guesting on lead guitar.

Peter, Naoko and Zen in Japan

Saturday, July 2nd, 2016

I took over 900 pictures in Japan, so I have to resist the temptation to share the best pictures (maybe about 50-75?) here. Instead, here are some pics of Naoko, Zen & I, seeing as we seldom take pics together with one of us being the cameraman.

As usual… click on the picture to see a larger version of it.
