Hooray, it’s Zen’s birthday today, and we’re going to have a fun time.
Today we gave him the two presents he got from his grandparents in Canada – a chess set, and a Hero Factory Jet Rocka posable toy box set that you can put together, change, customize, combine with other sets, etc. The look on Zen’s face when he saw the chess set was priceless – he was so badly, he’d wanted one so badly. As a parent, I felt great that my son wanted a nice toy that strengthens the mind, and not a TV game of some sort. Awesome!
Zen spent the day after school building his Hero Factory figure and reading Ender’s Game, and after that I came home, we had some nice lasagna, and then played chess! I won the first game, but Zen won the second (I was very careless, but he was playing a very good game).
On Saturday we’re going to Sentosa to see the giant aquarium there, then after that we’re checking into a hotel there to enjoy the luxury for an overnight stay. Sunday, we’re going to the water park there and are going to splash around a bit and have fun!
