Evan had his 4th birthday today and he had a great time. We had a bunch of his friends over for the party, so the house was filled with 15 little kiddies all having a good time.

We arranged a couple of games for the kids, and we started off by tying balloons to the kiddies’ feet and everybody had to try to pop the balloons attached to the feet. Quite a few of the kids though didn’t like the loud noises and even Evan shyed away from the game.

The next game was more of a hit – treasure hunt. We hid chocolate coins around the house and the kids had to look for the different treasures. The older kids found more of the coins, but I think everybody got something and after that the kids were mingling around much better.

Then we had some food and after that some cake! It was a Thomas the Tank Engine cake and Evan loved it! I think most of the kids enjoyed it.

After some playing around with the toys, we rolled out the pinata that we had made and the kids took turns hitting it with a hockey stick. It took around 40 or so kids to give it a good whack, and finally it spilled out with all the lollies inside. The kids made a mad scramble to get as many lollies as they could.

The rest of the afternoon was spent cleaning up and opening all the presents that Evan got. He got so many! His favourites were the glowing security-guard stick (the guys that he always impersonates) and a really big Thomas the tank track set, which included Thomas, Percy and Travis (the tractor). It automatically moves around in two different paths and shunts logs back and forth. Very cool actually!
