Momotaro play in Japanese

Monday, May 25th, 2009

Evan was the narrator in the Momotaro play the Kumo class put on. It was really amazing hearing him speak Japanese, even if he was reading from the book. The other kids did really well too. Lucas did a great job, so did Juan and Andreas, and I thought Markus did great too! I will try to upload the video I took, but it seems the colour in the camera was stuffed – it looks like everything’s black and white!

Momotaro is a story about a boy born in a peach who goes out to fight the oni (demon). Along the way he meets various animals, like the lion, monkey, dog etc. They somehow defeat the oni and then befriend him, after which they eat food together.

The kids are so cute!

I took some videos, but the colour turned out so strange! It looks like it’s been aged 50 years! Anyways, sorry about the colours, but here’s the play in three cuts.

Swimming

Monday, May 25th, 2009

Evan did awesome at the swimming pool the weekend before last. He swam all by himself the length of the pool (official olympic length I believe) 3 times! I was really amazed. His swimming has gotten a lot better since before the Thailand trip – Lauren’s as well!
