Whatever you say my queen

Monday, June 25th, 2007

Evan started responding to Mummy with:

“Whatever you say my queen.”

We think that’s what the bad guys say to their leader in Power Rangers.

We’re dog-sitting for some friends and the kids are really enjoying it. The dog’s only been here since tonight, but the kids have been asking about her for quite some time. It’ll be interesting to see when the novelty wears off!

New teeth

Thursday, June 14th, 2007

Evan phoned me up at work the other day to tell me something:

“Daddy, I got some new teeth!”

Evan’s 6-year-old molars had just come in, undetected by us. Normally kids get their 6-year molars when they are between 6 and 7, but Evan got his early. That means he’ll probably also get his permanent teeth early. Then Evan asked me when I’ll be coming home.

“I’ll be coming home late tonight, so I won’t be able to see your new teeth.”

“That’s ok. I’ll try to keep my mouth open, so when you get home, you can see my new teeth!”

What a cutie!

Now Lauren’s saying:

“I also have a new tooth!” :)

Treading water

Sunday, June 10th, 2007

I took Evan to the pool last weekend and I was talking to him about the importance of treading water and he said he wanted to try it out. We discussed what he needed to do and how to do it, and we went into the big pool to try it out. Evan did really well – he was able to keep afloat for quite a few seconds before reaching out to me. Amazing really.

Tanabata wish

Sunday, June 10th, 2007

The Japanese parents in Evan’s class did a presentation about Tanabata. They could each make a wish and tie it to a tree for it to come true. Evan’s wish was:

To transform into any Pokemon

Funny, since he doesn’t really watch Pokemon…
